Imagine coming home to find your door kicked in and your alarm system destroyed so that someone could help themselves to your personal items, which you’ve worked so hard for.
Now imagine realizing that during the theft, your two precious pups were taken somewhere for an unknown purpose.
That is the nightmare that Hilroi Euryspthee of Houston, Texas found himself living in this past Monday. When he’d arrived home from work, he found his house had been broken into, police investigators in the kitchen, and his dogs were gone.
Croix and Lucia are Yorkie-Schnauzer mix puppies. “[The thieves] pretty much just picked up the kennel and walked out that way…It’s truly like kidnapping when these dogs are so dear to you and you view them as kids,” said Euryspthee in a story by KHOU 11 News.
Following the incident, neighbors say to have noticed a suspicious car and an unknown bike rider, both captured on surveillance video. They wonder if the strangers were connected to the break-in.
The victim also had a computer and mountain bike stolen from his home, but his biggest concern is finding his puppies. Though devastated, Mr Euryspthee is hopeful that he’ll be reunited with his beloved furry family members.
“My dogs’ toys are still there. I’m not even going to move them because I have faith they are going to come back and they’re gonna play with them again,” he said in the KHOUS 11 News story.
