In May 2019, Kuno’s bravery was put to the ultimate test during a mission to neutralize a heavily armed and aggressive enemy threat. With the unit’s lives hanging in the balance, Kuno’s handler gave the command, and Kuno sprang into action.
Amidst the chaos of open fire, Kuno bravely charged towards the insurgent, tackling him to the ground. However, Kuno’s heroism came at a significant cost. During the confrontation, he was struck by bullets in his right thigh and left paw, rendering him immobile. Upon returning to the U.K., Kuno was rushed to a military hospital for urgent medical treatment.
