How much would you sacrifice to save your dog? Would you risk your life to save your dog’s life?
A man from New York made the ultimate sacrifice to rescue his dog. 34-year-old Garvin Anthony Brown, drowned while he was rescuing his dog who fell through a frozen pond. Brown was a Brooklyn DJ; Tony Trixx was his stage name. His beloved dog’s name is Rudy, a German Shepherd mix. Gavin and his fiance were on a weekend trip in Naples, New York. He was walking his dog near a frozen pond along route 21. Suddenly, Rudy ran out onto the ice and fell through it.
Gavin ran back to the cabin that he and his fiance rented, and alerted her to call 911. Then he ran out to save Rudy. However, the ice was very thin, so Gavin fell through it as well. He managed to pull out Rudy from the ice. Unfortunately, Gavin got stuck under the ice and didn’t make it out.
By the time the rescuers arrived, Gavin had already drowned. After an hour, they were able to recover his body from the bottom of the pond. Gavin was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gavin died a hero. He died saving his best friend.
