Jennifer McKee, a devoted animal rescuer in San Antonio, has made it her mission to help dogs in need. When she came across a Facebook post about a mother dog and her two puppies abandoned in a park, she knew she had to act quickly. Without hesitation, McKee jumped in her car and headed to the park, determined to save the little family. What she found when she arrived broke her heart — a rain-soaked blanket serving as their only shelter, with the trio curled up together, clinging to each other for warmth and comfort.
Approaching the frightened dogs cautiously, McKee tried not to startle them. “They were sleeping, so I was quiet and slow,” McKee told The Dodo. “I didn’t speak, just offered the mama some turkey. She took it and was starving, licking the bowl like crazy.” It was clear how desperate they were for help.
McKee gently coaxed the mom and her two puppies into her car and brought them to safety. Though it was unclear how long they had been abandoned, their condition told a story of neglect. “The mama was skin and bones, [her] skin and fur a mess,” McKee said. “The puppies looked good considering how they were found.”
After a visit to the vet, McKee took them home to foster them until they could find their forever families. She’s made it her goal to shower them with love and care, ensuring they experience the joy they’ve always deserved. With input from her TikTok followers, McKee gave them fitting names: the mother became Nova, and her pups were named Peaches and Tank.

Since their rescue, the little family has been living a dream life. They’ve gone shopping, enjoyed pup cups, and even had their pictures taken with Santa. “Mama sat so nice with Santa, and we have beautiful photos to show their future forever families,” McKee shared on TikTok.
Spoiled and adored, Nova, Peaches, and Tank are thriving in their foster home. McKee is committed to finding them loving, permanent homes where they’ll continue to be cherished. “They may never have known love before,” she said, “but they’ll never know anything but joy again.”
With her dedication and compassion, McKee ensures that this little family’s story has the happy ending it deserves. @pupcupcrew The San Antonio dog dumping situation is out if control. Found this mama and two puppies today dumped off of a busy road park like trash. Dumper left a blanket which was soaked from the rain. All three are safe and home with me. San Antonio needs a major education on how to be a responsible pet owner. Dumping animals is a felony in Texas. #abandoned #sanantonio #pitbull #puppiesoftiktok #dogstory #animaladvocate #help ♬ original sound – pupcupcrew
