I’d like to introduce you to my adorable little trouble maker, Koa.

Koa is a 1.5 year old Goldendoodle who is training to be a therapy dog.

We’ve been through the ringer with her digestive issues!

First, there’s the Diarrhea. Sometimes she makes it outside. But sometimes she goes right here by the door!

Then there’s the Vomiting. You know, the smelly, yellow nasty kind of barf that requires a full bath to remove the smell from her face. Her favorite place to go is right here on the landing of our carpeted stairs.

And our favorite, though less visible issue: silent but deadly farts. That sweet face might look innocent, but it isn’t and she knows it!

What’s extra frustrating is that we’ve tried EVERY kind of food imaginable. Dried food, wet food, freeze dried, even home-made. All the expensive kinds! She might enjoy it for a day or two, but then she gives me this adorable “NOPE face”

1. Wet, runny poos – This isn’t just an unsightly annoyance, its a sign your dog isn’t digesting their food fully. And this could lead to nutritional deficiencies.

2. Vomiting – With little warning, your precious pup expels that expensive food you bought out of the other end too! Frustrating, to say the least.

3. Gas – Again, gas isn’t just annoying, but might also be a sign of a poor absorption in the gut.

4. Picky Eaters – Imagine you had to eat the same food every day. You might also turn up your nose, right?

The moment I started putting it over Koa’s food, the first thing I noticed was

1. A happy dog! She devoured her bowl like she hadn’t eaten in days. And it didn’t just happen once, it happened every day, every meal!

Then a few days later I noticed the other benefits:

2. Her runny poos stopped. Finely, nice firm stools that are easy to clean up!

3. Her vomiting stopped (mostly) – Her almost daily vomits reduced substantially, and while she still sometimes scarfs down her food too fast and spits back up a little, the issue is 95% better.

4. I haven’t smelled her farts in weeks! – It’s normal for dogs to be passing some gas, but it doesn’t have to smell like death. Koa’s gas is basically undetectable now!

So What On Earth is This Heavenly White Powder?

goatmilk

Answer: Goat’s Milk

As odd as it sounds, Goat’s Milk is one of the most palatable foods on the planet for a dog. They absolutely cannot resist its taste and smell!

It’s so flavorful, that some dog owners have given it to a dog who is sick, or to senior hospice dogs who are struggling to eat. (more on that later)

Splash was the inspiration behind iHeartDogs. 16 years ago, my wife and I rescued her. It turns out, she rescued us too! Through her inspiration, iHeartDogs has been able to donate over 30 million meals for homeless dogs.

Splash lived an incredibly long and healthy life. Just 3 weeks ago, she passed away just a few months shy of 18 years old.

Splash was incredibly active and healthy up until her very last week of life, where she declined quickly. In those final days, where she was struggling to both eat and drink, I sat with her on my lap, cradling her and comforting her.

There was only 1 way I was able to get her to eat anything. I took her favorite food, and soaked it in our iHeartDogs Goat’s Milk Super-Probiotic.

She immediately would perk up and eat the food directly out of my hand. It was the only way she took food in the final days, and I cherish those special final moments I spent with her.

In honor of Splash, and to continue her legacy of helping homeless dogs, we’re pledging to donate 7 meals to shelter dogs for each purchase of the iHeartDogs Goat’s Milk Super-Probiotic.
