A Mississippi couple was left astonished when their cherished American Pit Bull, Pearl, gave birth to a litter of puppies—one of which was unlike any they had ever seen before. The firstborn of the litter had a bizarre green hue, setting it apart from its siblings. The sight was so unusual that Annise Tooley, one of the dog’s owners, immediately turned to the internet in search of answers. As a devoted pet owner, she had seen puppies of all shapes and colors, but never one with a greenish tint. The remarkable birth quickly became a fascinating topic for the couple, sparking curiosity and excitement. Tooley and her boyfriend, Greg Fucich, could hardly believe their eyes as they marveled at the unique pup, wondering what could have caused such an unexpected phenomenon.

Annise Tooley was left puzzled and immediately turned to the internet for answers after noticing something extraordinary about the firstborn pup in the litter.

“Why is one of my puppies green?” she recalled asking in disbelief.

Tooley and her boyfriend, Greg Fucich, are devoted pet owners who take great pride in their dogs. Their two American Pit Bulls, Pearl and Harley, welcomed a litter of healthy puppies on Sunday. While all the other puppies had the typical fur colors expected from their breed, the firstborn came into the world with an astonishing green tint.

“At first, I thought it was blue,” Fucich admitted. “I assumed it would eventually turn gray as it grew.”

Initially, Tooley didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary. But once the second puppy was born, the stark contrast became undeniable.

“When I saw the next one, I realized the first was a completely different color,” she said. “That’s when I knew something unusual had happened.”

Curious about the rare phenomenon, Tooley turned to online research and discovered that although uncommon, green puppies have been born before. According to various sources, the greenish hue is typically caused by exposure to biliverdin, a pigment found in bile. It sometimes mixes with the amniotic fluid in the mother’s womb and temporarily stains the puppy’s fur.

Tooley’s research also led her to similar cases around the world. One green puppy, born in Italy, was named Pistachio, while another in Ireland was affectionately called Shamrock. Drawing inspiration from pop culture, the couple decided to name their uniquely colored pup Fiona, after the beloved green-skinned princess in the Shrek movies.

Despite her unusual appearance at birth, Fiona is perfectly healthy and thriving alongside her siblings. Veterinary experts reassure that her green tint will gradually fade over time as she grows and her fur sheds naturally. Within a few weeks, she is expected to develop the same coat color as her brothers and sisters.

Although Tooley and Fucich adore their expanding canine family, they already have four dogs to care for. As a result, they have decided to find loving homes for Fiona and a few of her siblings once they are old enough. They hope to place them in households that will provide the same love and care they have given to their own pets.

Shortly after being released, he became overcome by rage and frustration and began violently wailing on his poor, trembling, frightened dog. It's clear that this man's violent tendencies didn't decrease after serving his time.

The birth of Fiona has not only captivated the couple but has also fascinated friends, family, and social media users who have followed their incredible story. Many are amazed by the rare occurrence and eagerly await updates on Fiona’s transformation as she grows.

For Tooley and Fucich, this unexpected experience has been a joyful reminder of the surprises nature can bring. “It’s definitely something we’ll never forget,” Tooley said with a smile. “Fiona is a special little pup, and we feel lucky to have witnessed such a rare and beautiful moment.”
