Maisy, a Pit Bull Terrier mix, frequently makes a wailing sound of “Woo-woo-woo-woo-woo” throughout the day. Maisy and her mother engage in frequent discussions, and her mother is happy to hear her talk. Maisy’s mother remarks that she is a very chatty dog when she is excited. In the past, things were not always easy for Maisy or Marisa Elbert’s mother.

Maisy spent three years alone in a cage outside because her previous family neglected her, only brought her out to try to breed her, and then intended to euthanize her when she couldn’t get pregnant. They felt she was unattractive and a waste of money to feed. A friend of the family rescued Maisy after hearing about her story.

A friend of Elbert’s tagged her on social media to look at Maisy after she had gone through three losses recently. Elbert was captivated and knew she had to get Maisy home as soon as possible.

She lost her 13-year-old Pit Bull, her father, and then her mother in quick succession. Maisy and her mother are both about enjoying life, and Maisy is precisely what Elbert needed in her life.

“I needed something to cheer me up.” She told TheDodo. Well, sweet Maisy, it looks like your mom has found a happy ending.
