An abandoned Pit Bull, left to fend for herself on the street, found refuge behind a diner. The hustle and bustle was overwhelming, so she cowered by the dumpster to feel safe. She waited to rummage for food when the diner employees took out the trash. Her life was miserable and lonely, but then she heard a group of people approaching. One woman in particular, named Jenny, caught a glimpse of the pup and was determined to help. Unaware of Jenny’s intentions, the dog backed herself into the corner.
Jenny tried to coax the Pittie out of the corner, but the pup refused to go with Jenny. Thankfully, the woman wasn’t giving up just yet. She continued to come back to the dumpster daily, bringing food and water. She worked to earn the dog’s trust, which wasn’t an easy feat. The dog’s demeanor slowly changed, and Jenny could sense they were making progress.
The woman returned one morning, and finally, after several weeks, the dog emerged from the corner, ready to leave the dank place. Jenny was thrilled. She took her to the local shelter to be evaluated. The volunteers helped the dog with her fear and hesitation around people. Soon, the pup was ready for her forever home. A loving family came to the shelter and quickly stepped forward, eager to adopt her. Thanks to Jenny’s tenacity and a wonderful group of shelter volunteers, this Pittie found her happily ever after!
