For sixteen years, Pocheon lived a life of neglect, chained in a yard and overlooked. Despite his hardships, he remained loyal to the person who fed him and gave him a place to stay, even if that “home” was little more than confinement. Pocheon’s days were predictable, and though his life was far from perfect, it was the only life he knew. But one day, everything changed. Without warning, his owner decided there was no place for Pocheon anymore. Instead of finding him a loving home or giving him to the shelter, the man chose to abandon him.
He drove Pocheon miles away from the yard he called home and left him alone in an unfamiliar place. Confused and heartbroken, the loyal old dog began walking. He traveled back and forth, retracing the steps to the home he had always known, hoping his owner would let him back in. But every time he returned, his pleas were ignored. Pocheon’s determination to find a place in his old home was met only with rejection.
Eventually, a group of rescuers discovered Pocheon wandering in a remote area. At first, they were unsure of his story. Why was an elderly dog roaming alone in such a desolate place? Was he lost or abandoned? As they searched for answers, nearby residents revealed the heartbreaking truth: Pocheon had been dumped the moment his owner got a younger dog.
The rescuers were devastated to learn that this sweet, elderly boy had been walking tirelessly, hoping for a second chance from the person who had given up on him. They knew they couldn’t leave him there to suffer. Pocheon was weak and visibly in pain—his frail body couldn’t endure much more.
Determined to give him a better life, the rescuers brought Pocheon home and immediately took him to a veterinarian. There, they learned that he wasn’t just battling the weight of old age; he was also suffering from intestinal stones, which explained his lethargy, stomach pain, and lack of appetite.
The vets began treatment right away, and Pocheon was placed on a special diet to help him heal. With proper care and love, his condition started improving. Over the course of a month, this resilient senior pup made an incredible transformation. His pain eased, his energy returned, and for the first time, he could enjoy regular meals without discomfort.
Pocheon now spends his days resting comfortably in a soft, warm bed with a furry friend by his side. Given his age, he isn’t expected to do much, and that’s just fine—cuddling and enjoying the calm life suits him perfectly.
His new caregivers have promised to love and care for him for the rest of his days, ensuring that the years of neglect he endured are replaced with nothing but kindness and comfort. Pocheon doesn’t have to wander or beg anymore. All it takes is a wag of his tail or a happy smile, and his needs are met with love.
Shockingly, this is not the first time she has faced animal cruelty charges; she has a past conviction for similar crimes. We must ensure that no more animals suffer or die in her care!
