Prisoners Form An Amazing Bond With Their New Canine Cellmates!

Does your dog make you a better person?

Most, if not all, dog owners say that their dogs have made them a better person. So one prison in America, the Fulton County Jail, in partnership with the Fulton County Animal Services, put that to the test by setting up scheme where prison inmates are paired with dogs from the shelter. The dogs are with them 24 hours a day–there to keep them company. They call this program the Canine Cellmates.

While the dogs await adoption, they get to bond and train with prison inmates. They learn to trust people, and they get to learn some cool tricks too! And in return, the dogs give the inmates companionship and sincere friendship. It’s a win-win for both man and dog.

The program has positive effects on both the inmates and the dogs. Inside the prison walls, beautiful friendships and amazing bonds have been formed between man and dog.
