Show of hands: how many enjoy a great smoothie? Have you ever thought that your dog may enjoy a smoothie too? It is true, yes, your dog may have a challenge drinking a smoothie through a straw, however, your dog certainly will enjoy this delicious treat in a bowl.  While you are making some for your dog, be sure that you save some for you too.  Yes, this smoothie is great and healthy for you both!

This recipe is loaded with berries, and we all know that berries are super antioxidants to snack on. Dogs benefit from vitamins and minerals just like we do, and this smoothie – I mean pooch-mmm-oothie – is packed with them! B6 is just one of the vitamins this smoothie is packed with – did you know that this vitamin plays a role in your dog’s health? B6 helps support skin, teeth, nerves, liver, brain health.

Strawberries and bananas dog treat

Bananas are one of the main ingredients in this recipe, and contain potassium: a mineral that supports muscle health. It is always interesting to see how some of the same healthy and incredible foods that have optimal health benefits for us are also are the same for our pets. This recipe is loaded with antioxidants; antioxidants boost immune systems, especially for older dogs. Like any snack or treat, please remember less is more, and always check with your veterinarian before introducing new items to your dog’s diet.

Now that you know all the reasons this dog treat recipe is awesome, ready to make this pooch-mmm-oothie?
