More than 350 dogs were rescued from properties across 3 southern states, in what is being called the biggest dog fighting ring in US history. Signs of neglect and abuse are everywhere, these photos show just how badly these dogs have been treated.

Timmy, an 8-week-old pup, was one of the youngest dogs rescued.

No dog deserves or needs this around its neck, especially a tiny pup.

How anyone could treat an animal so cruelly, we’ll never know.

But Timmy had the biggest smile when help arrived. 🙂

A total of ten suspects were arrested and charged with dogfighting.

But it was too late for many of the dogs. They found dead animals all over the properties. But little Timmy was one of the survivors.

He was transported to the Humane Society of Calvert County in Maryland for care.

Looking much healthier and happier!

It’s good to see Timmy here with an appropriate leash.

Timmy would learn to trust humans and go on to a forever home.

It would be a long legal process, but Timmy and the other dogs would get what they deserved.

Timmy went on to become the “poster pup” for the ASPCA to help bring attention to abused dogs everywhere.

About 9-months after the raid, 10 of the 14 defendants had pleaded guilty. Fortunately, the more than 350 dogs were rescued before things could get even worse.
