Tired Of Photos With Dogs Mouths Forced Shut, This Group Is Starting A Movement

| December 3, 2015

This morning I awoke to yet another picture of a poor dog with his mouth forcible held shut, this time with a rubber band.

He tried to delete it , he’s from Hamilton. Share the hell out of it

Whatever the sick reason, we are seeing these disturbing types of images fairly frequently as of late. Caitlyn, of course, is one the most famous of these dogs, having had to go through multiple surgeries to fix the damage done by duct tape.

Thankfully, a group of people is saying “enough is enough” and asking people to “band” together to stop this animal cruelty by posting pictures of yourself with a rubber band around your mouth to demonstrate how uncomfortable it is. The point of the campaign is to prove just how cruel it is to do this to a dog.

The campaign was started by the World Animal Awareness Society (WA2S) after authorities failed to help a dog living on a deck with his mouth rubber banded. IN FACT, THE WOMAN WHO TRIED TO STOP THIS ABUSE WAS ARRESTED UNDER HARASSMENT CHARGES. The WA2S decided to do something about it and made the following video. It’s clear that people in the video who band themselves find it very uncomfortable. Not one of them thinks a dog should be subjected to this awful practice.

While the video says the campaign ended November 22, WA2S is continuing the campaign to further raise awareness about this cruel practice.

To join the movement:

  1. Take a selfie with a rubber band around your mouth
  2. Tag with #MuzzleYourSelfie & #BandTogether.
  3. Visit http://www.WA2S.org find your pic and share the gallery
