Woman Fell In Love With Puppy With Deformed Leg & Flies Across The Country To Adopt Him

| Published on January 28, 2016

Everyone, meet Dill.

Dill is a very special puppy. He’s so special that a woman fell in love with him, and flew across the country to adopt him.

Just after Christmas, Dill and his siblings came to Fetch Wisconsin Rescue. But unlike his siblings, Dill was different.

The staff at the shelter didn’t notice it at first, but one of Dill’s front legs was deformed.

He may walk and get around differently, but that deformity didn’t hold Dill back from being an active and energetic pup. To get around, Dill just hops on his three legs. Dill was a happy pup, but he needed a home.

Then a woman named Jess Street learned about Dill. Jess and Athena, her 6-year-old daughter, are going to start a non-profit community organization named “The Kindness Tribe” and their mission is to change lives. Jess was looking for a therapy dog to become a part of her team. She had a friend who volunteered at the Fetch WI Rescue who told her about Dill.

Jess knew Dill was perfect. But there’s just one problem, Dill is in Wisconsin, and Jess is in Florida.

However it was like fate wanted them to be together, Jess told The Dodo, “From the price of the flight dropping from almost $300 to almost nothing, to being able to stay with family in Madison, to the amazing people that donated money to Fetch WI to help cover his adoption fee. It was 100 percent meant to be.”

Dill, now named Doc, is now part of the organization that Jess is starting. This cutie is going to be a therapy dog. Way to go, Doc!

Meet Dill – the world’s cutest puppy, who just happens to also be missing a leg. One of Dill’s front legs is deformed…

So you see guys, even if a puppy or a dog is deformed, that doesn’t make him any less. He is different, but definitely not less. In fact, Dill aka Doc, has become even more–since he’s going to be helping people!

We hope that this story will encourage people to give special needs dogs a chance, to look beyond their deformity, and see the possibility of what they can do and what they are capable of. Every dog is capable of cheering us up, becoming a friend, and giving love. And every dog deserves a chance at happiness.
