#6 – Yorkshire Terrier

Yorkshire Terriers are one of the most popular dog breeds today but they do have a reputation for being nuisance barkers. Because of their terrier heritage, this belief does not go unfounded and early training is necessary to control the noise level. When well-trained, however, they make great companions.

#7 – Chihuahua

Chihuahuas are another small breed with a big reputation for being yappy, and they most certainly live up to it when their barking is tolerated. However, training and sufficient exercise can make Chihuahuas wonderful companions.

#8 – Silky Terrier

The Silky Terrier is an Australian breed primarily bred to be a family companion, although they are known to kill snakes. They are typically very relaxed dogs, but being terriers, can be prone to nuisance barking.

#9 – Toy Poodle

The Toy Poodle is the smallest of the Poodles and has the highest propensity for nuisance barking. Whether this is due to the breed’s temperament or more relaxed training is unknown; though the larger variations are less noisy.

#10 – Pembroke Welsh Corgi

Pembroke Welsh Corgis are dwarf herding dogs originally used for cattle driving, and their active and strong personalities help them learn to bark early. They are very active and intelligent dogs that can become nuisance barkers if not well trained and exercised.
