Andrew Fladeboe is an amazing photographer who specializes in dogs and nature. There is something ethereal about his work that makes you think these creatures must be from some other world, Narnia perhaps.
Yet these dogs are very much here on Earth, most from Norway and New Zealand. They work hard for their humans each and every day and Fladeboe has captured their essence in the following stunning images.
Quick Q&A
What made you start photographing dogs?
AF: I was working with a wide variety of animals and I decided I should focus on one and learn as much as I could about it to inform my artwork. Dogs were a natural fit because I could travel anywhere in the world and photograph them.
Why photograph working dogs?
AF: They are the most sagacious of the world’s creatures. Their story is fascinating and hasn’t really been told. Its been 30,000 years since they were domesticated and have been working with us in a number of roles since. They have helped us evolve and succeed as a species.
Want more? Andrew Fladeboe will have a solo show in NYC at Peter Hay Halpert Fine Art this October. He also sells large scale limited edition fine art prints through them. And, of course, you can find him on his website and his blog.
