For some people, they do not value what it truly means to have a dog. Whenever they tire of being responsible for them, they either surrender them, or worse, cast them out as if they mean nothing. This is a very cowardly move, and while they may hold on to some strange belief that they are “helping” the animal, they are doing the complete opposite. From the very moment they are cast aside or given away, a dog is left traumatized–alone and afraid of their unfamiliar surroundings… which isn’t a very nice way to repay someone who just wanted to love you.
Lisa Snyder of California is a woman that loves animals. She happened to be going about her business when she noticed something strange. Tied to a light post, with no owner in sight, Lisa spotted a dog who was barking and completely terrified. Minutes turned to hours and still no owner came to collect this dog–who Lisa sadly realized, had been dumped. As she came in closer, she noticed a note around the dog’s neck. After several minutes of coaxing she was able to gain the dog’s trust so that she could take him somewhere that he could be safe. Watch and see:
