Best Foods for a Pug Puppy
I feed Fromm, it’s family-owned from Wisconsin. I feed all beef. I will not give him anything chicken. He has no allergies at all; our last Pug had all kinds of allergies. I didn’t know that chicken is a big reason for dog allergies.

Make their food, it’s better than any preserved kibble garbage….literally tons of recipes online to follow, and it’s cheaper than buying food. My dogs have eaten ‘homemade’ for 10 years now, and the vet says their bloodwork is amazing for senior girls.

My pugs eat Honest Kitchen, and it’s human-grade. It’s also grain-free because my female pug can’t have grain. My SIL, a vet, recommended it.

I’ve learned that traditional kibble is not a great choice. My pug is on Dr. Harveys human grade dehydrated food (have to add hot water). Moisture is key for digestion. They make an allergy support kind, and my 13-year-old pug is doing so great. Raw is a great option too! Anything you can buy at a grocery store is terrible.

Nutra complete freeze dried raw. No more allergies, no smelly Frito feet, no dandruff, no black ear gunk, very small feces, and more energy. I’ve had 8 pugs, and these two are 9 and 11 with zero health issues! Love it, but it’s pricey. I also boil beef heart and cut it into small pieces for the best treats ever!

I had a pug who I had from 6 weeks old until over 16 years old. Best dog ever. He had very severe allergies (most pugs do), and the only food that worked for him was Blue Buffalo grain-free puppy and small dog formula. I tried like 15 different brands, and that was the winner.

I feed my 3 pugs pedigree lamb and rice, and they do great with it. I’ve always fed my pugs, including when my male and female were breeding, and I also used the pedigree puppy formula for their puppies

Our Pug just passed in December; he was 16. I always fed him a Walmart brand called Pure Balance, which is grain-free and comes in several different varieties. I also added one pump of Salmon oil for his coat along with DinOvite. He was healthy with no allergies all his life… Hope this helps…

My girl is 9yrs old and don’t feed her nothing but boil chicken breast yellow of of the egg, nothing else, only duck Jerky but no other kind of treats, very healthy never had to have her teeth cleaned and no bad breath, but every one has there own way of raising the fur baby, no tables scraps either, that a picture of her of take in first part of December of 2022 that my daughter had made.

We fed ours Instinct raw frozen, and he did well on it. Hills prescription diet, which he was prescribed after surgery, almost killed him, and Blue made his urinary stones worse. Each pug is different, so you’ll probably have to try different ones to see how yours does on any of them. Try raw, it’s best.

I’d go with what the vet recommends. I use Taste of the Wild for mine. They have many different proteins, so your pug never gets bored. They also have a puppy recipe as well and it’s not pricey at all

Real food and nothing but kibble killed one of my dog brothers. I thought the dog pushing his brother away from the dog food was an alpha thing. The surviving dog suffered from seizures, but those have stopped since we quit dog food. Now I know better. Meat, veg, and dairy like my family. No grains or fillers. It costs no extra, just time.
I’m not investing years into any animal again if I can’t knowingly feed it well. Trouble is, he knows the difference between a regular egg and pasture-raised. So no money saved there. Medical bills and pills. Pay now or pay later. In turn, if my dog won’t eat it I won’t eat it lol
