The dog and the cat in the video below have a very special friendship. Ami is an 18-month-old Shepherd mix, and his best buddy is a 9-month-old brown Tabby cat named Mikaela. They were both surrendered to a rescue group when their previous owners moved to another country and they didn’t want to subject their pets to a lengthy quarantine process.
The rescue group had to separate the two because of their size difference. They then placed the two at the Helen Woodward Animal Center, in hopes that the two best buddies will be adopted together.
When the two got to the shelter, they were reunited! Watch the video below and see how happy and excited these two are during their reunion!
A few days later, a kind family saw their video and their story. They then decided to adopt them both! It’s a happy ending for these two after all!
Did you see who was adopted just in time for #NationalPetDay? Ami (pup) and her BFF Mikaela (kitty)! What an adorable new family! Their story can be found at NBC LA: http://bit.ly/1qk70sS
