“A Chained Dog Is A Choked Soul”

We can never understand people who have dogs and then choose to have them chained outside. If you can’t treat your dog like a family member, why have them in the first place?

This Pit Bull named Roxanne is one of those chained dogs. But what makes her plight even worse is that the chain around her is so heavy that it caused her head to swell.

Roxanne was found wandering in Columbia, South Carolina. She weighed only 50 pounds when they found her. And no one knows just how long that chain had been wrapped around her neck.

Rescue Dogs Rock NYC, an all volunteer rescue organization, heard about Roxanne, immediately took action and brought her to the vet.

The first thing they had to do was remove the chain around Roxanne’s neck. But that wasn’t easy. The chain was heavy and thick, so they needed bolt cutter to remove it. After the chain was removed, Roxanne had emergency surgery.
