Battered Dog With Missing Tongue & Teeth Miraculously Escapes Abusers

| Published on July 27, 2016

When police contacted the Animal Charity of Ohio in regards to a dog they’d found on a porch, the humane society was shocked once they saw the severity of the pup’s abuse.

The Pit Bull, who they named Bubbles, had lacerations all over his face. But that wasn’t the worst of it. His teeth were also filed down, and his heart was heavily infested with worms, among other parasites in his body.

Once we got him back to Animal Charity, we realized that he had escaped the most horrible nightmare of a life. He had escaped torture and abuse at its absolute worst,” reads a post on the rescue’s Facebook page.

Then, they made another disturbing discovery.

He keeps going to each of us to be petted and loved. That is when we noticed something wasn’t right. He isn’t giving us kisses. His face touches ours, but that’s it. One of us wondered out loud, ‘Does he even have a tongue?’ We were horrified when we looked inside his mouth and found that his tongue is missing,” the post explains.

It’s unclear exactly how the pup lost his tongue.  But one way or another, his horrific mistreatment suggests that he had been used as a bait dog. The rescue considers it a miracle that he was able to escape his abusers at all.

Despite where he came from, Bubbles wants nothing more than to be loved. “This precious boy holds no grudges and seems to know that he is safe,” posts the Animal Charity of Ohio.

This courageous, resilient Pittie will need a dedicated foster as he recovers. Then, he’ll be looking for a special home where he can the only dog. Bubbles needs a family who can’t wait to spoil him and who can cater to his special needs while keeping him feeling calm, safe, and loved. In return, they’ll get Bubbles’ unconditional love and affection.

If you’re interested in adopting Bubbles, or have any information on his former abusers, you can contact the Animal Charity of Ohio: acohumane@gmail.com.

This non-profit rescue runs solely on donations, and they are currently accepting canned wet food (“the chunky kind with gravy”) to feed the pup. If you’d like to help Bubbles and dogs like him recover, click here to donate.

We hope Bubbles finds the perfect family who will love him forever!

UPDATE:

Bubbles is currently “loving the foster home life” according to the Animal Charity of Ohio’s Facebook page.
