Whenever you buy products from the iHeartDogs store, some of that profit goes to Greater Good Charities to help animals in need. Greater Good Charities uses its GOODS Program to donate food and other essential supplies to shelters and rescues. Those donations make it easier for organizations to save dogs like Bear.
Bear is a beautiful Great Pyrenees that was found roaming the streets. Animal control picked him up and he was starving, but they had no idea how long he’d been alone. No one came to pick him up from animal control, so he eventually ended up in an overcrowded shelter. Like many strays, he developed food aggression toward humans and other dogs.
Food aggression is a fixable problem, but the shelter didn’t have the time or funds to help Bear. So, he ended up on the euthanasia list since there weren’t enough space or resources to properly care for him. It seemed like Bear’s life was about to come to an end, but the LBS RSQ Foundation of Fitzhugh, Oklahoma, heard his story and rushed to save him.
Turning Bear’s Life Around
LBS RSQ Foundation saved Bear’s life, and they worked with him on his food aggression. Once he was put in a more comfortable environment where he could successfully train with volunteers, his personality changed for the better. He overcame his food aggression, and now he’ll happily take food and treats from people.
“We are very thankful for the GOODS Program. The GOODS Program has allowed us to help dogs like Bear overcome issues of food starvation and aggression. We love that we are able to help many dogs and not have to worry about feeding them,” LBS RSQ Foundation wrote. “The GOODS Program keeps us afloat. It is a huge and necessary resource in animal rescue and we are genuinely grateful to have such an outstanding and helpful program to allow us to continue our mission of saving animals from euthanasia.”
Every time you buy something from the iHeartDogs store, dogs like Bear are fed. Without having to spend as much money on food, organizations can focus on other areas of animal care, such as medical needs and training. Thank you to all the heroes who have purchased products to save animals in need!
