On a crisp January morning in Southern California, a passerby stumbled upon an unusual sight in a neglected alley. Among the piles of discarded trash and debris, a worn-out car bench seat stood out. Lying atop was a Rottweiler mix, her body emaciated and her gaze filled with sorrow. She barely moved as the concerned stranger approached. Her exhaustion overwhelmed her so much that she didn’t even seem relieved to have been found. Realizing the dire state of the dog, the Good Samaritan quickly snapped a photo and reached out to Suzette Hall, founder of Logan’s Legacy Dog Rescue.

When Hall arrived at the scene, her heart broke at the sight of the dog, who she later named Delta. “She has scars, open cuts, and swollen eyes,” Hall wrote on Facebook. “But deep down, all she wants is love.” Hall immediately set to work trying to help the frightened pup. She attempted to use food as bait and gently tried to guide her with a leash, but Delta’s fear of humans and the leash was evident.

“She was scared of everything, even a leash would make her scream,” Hall shared. “I can’t imagine what memories were going through her mind.” After repeated attempts and much patience, Hall and her team finally managed to lift Delta from the makeshift bed and transport her to Camino Pet Hospital. They reassured her throughout the ride, promising her a new life filled with care and compassion.

At the hospital, Delta underwent a full medical evaluation. Along with an eye infection and a few other treatable conditions, the vet team made a startling discovery: Delta was pregnant with two puppies. The news added another layer of urgency to her rescue story, as she had been surviving alone while carrying her unborn pups.

Soon after arriving at a warm and safe foster home, Delta gave birth to two healthy puppies named Chunky and Monkey. The duo thrived under their mother’s care, blissfully unaware of the hardships she had endured.

“Delta’s frown has been turned upside down,” Hall shared on Facebook. “Look at her smile, she is so proud of her little family.” Now, as Chunky and Monkey prepare to find their forever homes, Delta is also beginning her search for a loving family. Hall has no doubt that Delta’s incredible resilience and sweet nature will win the hearts of adopters.

Shortly after being released, he became overcome by rage and frustration and began violently wailing on his poor, trembling, frightened dog. It's clear that this man's violent tendencies didn't decrease after serving his time.

“She is truly the biggest love bug ever and gives the best kiss facials,” Hall said. “Delta is the epitome of a from-trash-to-treasure story, and I just love her.”
