To most of us devoted dog parents, our canine companions are more than simply pets. They’re our best friends and are considered part of the family. That’s why one doggy dad did absolutely everything he could to dig his poor baby out when he got himself stuck in a drain pipe.

Not only did he never give up, but he protected him as the rocks and debris in the hole were being chipped away.

The video of a dog being rescued after he was trapped in a drain pipe has gone viral, and it’s not surprising why. The dog had gotten himself stuck in a seriously sketchy situation, and the nerve-wracking video leaves you on the edge of your seat as you watch. You’re left wondering how and when will this dog ever be rescued.

And then, when the magical moment finally arrives, and the pair are together again, it’s an incredibly heart-warming reunion to behold.

The video begins in the midst of the rescue, with the dog already trapped deep down in the earth. Finally, they can see his tiny face, and you can see his dad desperately try to pull him out. But the hole isn’t quite wide enough for him to escape.

So they frantically work to widen the hole. You can tell how much his dad loves him by how tirelessly he works and how he shields his baby from the falling rocks they’re loosening to set him free. The soil where he is stuck is extremely rocky and packed-in super tight, which makes his extraction extremely difficult.

It’s agonizing to watch the man struggle to pull him free, so I can only imagine how it felt to have this happen to his dog.

Then, the magical moment finally comes. Eventually, the hole is wide enough, and because of the efforts of both the dog and his dad, he is finally able to climb out of the drain. Their reunion is joyous as people cheer around them. The man’s face says it all. The relief he feels and the love for his canine companion is clear to see as he holds his beloved best friend.
