Luigi Maestro is a five-year-old Shih-Tzu who loves treats, attention, and cruising down the streets of New York in one of his many luxury cars.

Most humans consider themselves lucky to buy even one luxury car in their lifetime, but Luigi has a Bentley, a Porche, a Ferrari, and a Beemer. And no, these aren’t his mom’s cars – these cars are all his. His size, remote-controlled, and each has a trunk that holds his food and water bowls so he can take a break while he’s out on the town.

Doting dog mom Anisha Lakhani follows behind at a comfortable distance – close enough for his safety, far enough that she’s not cramping his style!

Luigi also has his own closet full to bursting with more clothes than I have in mine. Anisha insists that she’s not spoiling her dog,

“‘Spoil’ means ‘to ruin’… am I making him worse? No. I don’t think so.”

Agree!

Dog mom Lakhani works hard to buy little Luigi anything a discerning dog could want. She’s an author, freelance journalist, screenwriter. We absolutely love that she has decided to use her successes to treat her pup to the finer things!

People who see Luigi driving past are quick to pull out their phones and snap a picture of him and his cool cars. Wouldn’t you? Can you imagine a cuter guy in a cooler car?!

New York has always pulled in tourists, but now there’s one more sight to see when you visit the big city! Where else are you going to get a chance to see a suave Shih-Tzu drive such an incredible car?

You could buy yourself a full-sized version of one of these luxury cars if you have a few thousand dollars on you. Check your pockets. A BMW starts around $50,000. If you want a Ferrari, you can expect to spend at least $200,000. It might be a stretch for some of us to spoil ourselves, but you can get your dog a nice Christmas car for under $500 this holiday season. (But still tell your friends you bought a Porche.)

If you’re worried about Luigi getting his exercise – don’t. Lakhani is totally devoted to her pup, and he gets plenty of walks and playtime with mom. The drives are just a bonus. Some may think that a dog doesn’t care whether he has cars like these, but Luigi shows her his gratitude.

Lakhani admits that a dog may not need a collection of luxury cars, but she believes that, like humans, dogs enjoy a nice drive. And if you’re going for a drive, why not do it in style?

“So I started with the BMW, and then there’s a piece of me that’s like, ‘Let’s see what the Ferrari is like.'”

She’s hooked! But as cute as Luigi looks in his little cars, I would be tempted to buy him more, too. And she’s not the only one who loves watching him cruise around in his classy cars. People who see Luigi in the street pull out cell phones to snap pictures and stop to watch him roll away on his hot wheels. Lakhani is sure there are likely people who roll their eyes or mutter about her dog being in a Beemer, but the majority of people love it.

“I never anticipated the warmth… the friendliness of New Yorkers.”

Other dogs seem to love his cars too.

Seriously, I would trade places with this pup. Anisha, please adopt me.

He may be the pooch prince of New York, but despite the cars and clothes and other plush perks, Luigi is just a regular dog. That means goofy photo faces, taking naps, and lots of kisses and cuddles for mom.

If you’re not in the New York area, you can still see Luigi and his ENTIRE collection of cars on his Instagram page!
