Bruno Yovich, the founder of Save the Dogs, never imagined his life would revolve around rescuing dogs. But in a heartfelt video, he shares how his passion led him to create a sanctuary for countless dogs in need. His journey from having no prior connection to dogs to saving hundreds from unthinkable conditions is a testament to the power of compassion and change.

Bruno’s organization, Save the Dogs, was founded to rescue abandoned and neglected dogs from a city shelter in Bosnia. The shelter, originally designed for only 300 dogs, now holds over 1,200 dogs in deplorable conditions. Overcrowded and struggling, the shelter has become a desperate place for animals with nowhere else to go.

Among the first dogs rescued was Ambo, a pup who had endured extreme neglect. His story is both heartbreaking and hopeful—saved from despair, he finally received the veterinary care and love he desperately needed. Ambo’s transformation represents everything Bruno and his team strive for: turning hopeless situations into happy endings.

Bruno’s passion for dog rescue began unexpectedly when he adopted Mia, a French Bulldog. Before that, he had no deep connection to animals, but Mia changed everything. Through her, he discovered his love for dogs and the urgent need to help those suffering in shelters. What started as a single adoption soon evolved into a lifelong mission to rescue as many dogs as possible.

Since its founding, Save the Dogs has expanded significantly. The team has built a second ranch that can house 400-500 dogs, providing more space and better living conditions for rescues. Right now, the organization cares for about 850 dogs, offering them safety, love, and a second chance at life.

Despite the overwhelming numbers, Save the Dogs prioritizes rescuing the most vulnerable pups, including dogs that have survived illegal fights. These dogs often come to the rescue in horrific conditions, suffering both physically and emotionally. Many have never known kindness—until Bruno and his team step in.

Bruno’s dream is to build a permanent sanctuary where rescued dogs in Bosnia can thrive. He envisions a place where they are not just housed but truly loved, where they can heal and live their days in peace and happiness. His commitment to ensuring that every adopted dog finds a loving forever home speaks to his unwavering dedication to animal welfare.

The video of Save the Dogs’ mission is a powerful reminder of the need for compassion. Every day, Bruno and his team face new challenges, yet their resolve remains strong. They stand as a beacon of hope for forgotten dogs, showing the world what love and kindness can achieve.
