Dog Stranded 5 Days On Ice Until A News Crew Jumped Into Action

In Bay Villiage Ohio, the news crew of WKYC saved a black Labrador named Kimberly after being stranded on ice for five days. Kimberly had run away from her home in Lorain, Ohio. She somehow ended up thirty (30) kilometers away from her home, on the frozen Lake Erie.

The Coast Guard crew said that an air mission to save the dog was too difficult. The Coast Guard and the Fire Department had been trying to rescue poor Kimberly, but she ran away from them. So WKYC partnered with local company Air1Airboats out of Sandusky, together with boat captain Tony Muscioni, headed out to search for the dog.

In the video below, you will see Kimberly looking frightened by the noise of the boat that she ran away at first. Captain Muscioni actually got out of the boat to try and save her. Luckily, the cameraman George Payamgis, got a hold of her collar and pulled her into the boat.

And after five long days, Kimberly is now reunited with her owner Amy Pritchard, who was very thankful of all the efforts that the team had done to save her beloved dog.
