Dog Who Refused To Leave Bed After Being Surrendered Gets His Happy Ending

| Published on December 29, 2015

Update:

Who could forget Chuchi, the mini Poodle who was surrendered just two days before Christmas last year? It was his second “rejection,” and he was so depressed and scared in the shelter, he refused to leave the only piece of “home” he had left – his bed.

Six-year-old Chuchi was taken to a kill shelter, where his time was limited. But fortunately, his luck changed!

The pup was picked up by the Bichon Furkids Rescue, and shortly after, he found his forever home! Check out his “freedom ride” face:

He was adopted by a loving couple in Colorado, and even has a four-legged sibling. He’s now called Charlie Chaplin – a new name to signify a new start in life!

Charlie Chaplin was adopted almost a year ago, but this will be the first Christmas he gets to spend in his forever home! We hope that the whole family has a wonderful holiday season!

Original Story:

This is the story of Chuchi, who was not home for Christmas.

On December 23rd last year, a miniature Poodle named Chuchi was surrendered to the Carson Animal Care Center in Gardena, California. And since then, Chuchi’s only source of comfort has been from the last remaining piece of his former home and family: this little bed.

Chuchi

The 13-pound pup has barely moved from this spot. The shelter is a strange, frightening place for Chuchi, filled with unfamiliar smells and loud noises.

At six years old, Chuchi has already been rejected from two homes. He was with his most recent family for just over a year, but they had to move and decided to do so without him. He likes to spend most of his time indoors, and seems to get along well with whomever he meets, including small children, but this shy guy should be the only pet in the house. Clearly, he is a very sensitive sweetheart with a deep capacity for love–and heartbreak.

Little CHUCHIE’S face says it all. This adorable little guy was left at the shelter when his family moved and he is heartbroken. Please SHARE for his life, he is VERY special and a FOSTER or ADOPTER would save him. Thanks!#A4906845 My name is CHUCHI and I’m an approximately 6 year old male Poodle Mini. I am not yet neutered. I have been at the Carson Animal Care Center since 12/23. I will be available on 12/23. You can visit me at my temporary home at C220.My former family who owned me for more than a year had to give me up because they were moving. But they said that I spend most of my time indoors. I seem to be good with small children. I have not been housetrained. I am learning how to walk on a leash. I am just learning obedience skills. I should be the only pet in the house.http://www.petharbor.com/pet.asp?uaid=LACO1.A4906845Carson Shelter, Gardena, California216 Victoria Street, Gardena, California310.523.9566, M-TH 12pm – 7pm, F-SU – 10am – 5pmPHOTO THREAD: https://www.facebook.com/savingcarsonshelterdogs/photos/a.172032662969376.1073741830.171850219654287/521963924642913/?type=3&theater

Chuchi is at a shelter where they must eventually euthanize dogs due to limited room and resources. Let’s find him a home!
