The Seminole Humane Society / Seminole Animal Shelter in Oklahoma has stepped in to help a “very sweet, very calm and docile” pooch named Cathleen find a new home.
Her family moved to a new house where they could not keep her and gave Cathleen to a friend. After walking the 20 miles back to her loved ones on two seperate occasions, the heartbroken pup found herself living at the shelter.

Reserve animal control officer, Lynzi Thompson says Cathleen just “wants to be everybody’s friend.”
“She’s a love bug. Give her a chance. She may seem shy at first but will open up to you, definitely,” Thompson added.
Several Facebook followers offered to donate money to help Cathleen return to her family, but shelter staff say that will not be possible. Instead, kindhearted community members have volunteered to cover Cathleen’s $25 adoption fee and supply her new adopter with gifts of toys and supplies.
Adoption applications began to pour in for Cathleen after her story appeared on local news outlets. Her new friends at the Humane Society are now wading through them in search of the perfect family for this deserving girl.
“We have some fine applications and will be making a decision soon,” Seminole Humane Society commented Thursday evening via Facebook. “It has to be someone financially and emotionally capable of taking care of this sweet girl!”
We hope to bring you a happy update to Cathleen’s story very soon!
