A homeless dog, appearing to be unkempt, accidentally wandered into the barracks of the Bayamón Police Station in Puerto Rico seeking shelter. Sergeant Tony Montesinos noticed the dog and kindly approached him.
The dog appeared to be very thin, and scared, and had numerous scars all over its body, which suggests that it was mistreated and left alone not long ago.

Tony named the dog “El Gorgi” and gave him food and water at the station. Although Gorgi left for the evening, he returned the next day and it became clear that he considered the station his safe place. As weeks went by, the dog formed a bond with the officers and would often seek their protection by leaning on them.

The officers grew fond of Gorgi and decided to take care of his many health issues by pooling their money to take him to the vet. Over time, they eventually made him an honorary surveillance dog of the station, complete with a badge, vest, and a cozy dog bed which served as his post.

Today, Gorgi has become an attractive and charming companion who is essential to the station. He provides comfort to the officers on difficult days and helps them manage their stress levels.
These heroic officers have taken good care of Gorgi, the once lonely pup, by providing him with the sense of belonging to a family that he has been longing for, resulting in happiness and fulfillment.
