Concerned for her welfare, they contacted Animal Control. When the officers arrived, they quickly identified Izzy as a nursing mother. A search nearby led to the discovery of her vulnerable puppies, who were also in dire need of care. The rescuers carefully gathered the puppies and their mother, transporting them to the Amelia Animal Shelter in Virginia.
The shelter workers welcomed them warmly. The following day, a visit to the vet was arranged.
