A Cleveland man has been reunited with his beloved Havanese therapy dog, Polo, five days after his two dogs were stolen in a carjacking.

Andrew Wright was inside a local gas station early Friday morning when the thief sped off in his vehicle. Polo, who alerts Wright to impending seizures, was spotted wandering loose about eight miles from the scene of the crime. Wright cradled Polo and wept openly during their reunion this Wednesday.

Wright’s car is equipped with OnStar and was quickly recovered by police, but Polo and a puppy named Baby Girl were no longer in the vehicle. Wright pleaded with viewers to help locate the dogs during an interview with Fox 8 Cleveland.

“It’s hurting, it’s hurting every minute,” he said. “I can’t eat, I can’t sleep, I hear [them] crying.”

One Fox 8 viewer, Mariah Singleton, recognized Polo as a dog she’d seen in her neighborhood following one of her neighbors. She says she thought the pooch was a stray. Singleton contacted Fox 8 and Cleveland Police after the broadcast, realizing that the dog she saw was Polo.

“I feel good, I’m happy he’s home,” said Singleton.

When he learned that Singleton had helped to reunite him with his dog, Wright said:

“Thank you for having a heart, thank God for opening your heart to call.”

Sadly, Baby Girl is still missing. Wright hopes that another good Samaritan will spot the puppy and help bring her home. No description was provided in the news report, but Baby Girl can be seen in the above photo.
