When the Kramer family first adopted a tiny Pit Bull puppy named Libra, she was just a tiny puppy. The adorable dog quickly formed an immeasurable love for the family’s daughter, April, who was just 8 years old at the time. Over time, Libra grew to be close friends with her adorable kitten sibling, Maxwell.

After a long struggle, April grew up, and Libra became a dependable ally for her. But after accompanying her younger sister for 15-happy-years, senior Libra’s health began to deteriorate. Her problems started with some severe seizures that eventually led to the discovery of cancerous pulmonary tumors. After many veterinary examinations, the conclusion was clear – Libra was in a lot of discomfort and had little time remaining.

April wanted to give a gift to Libra, the family’s suffering dog. The Krampuses had intended for her life to be over as swiftly as possible, and they didn’t want her to suffer for long. When April’s ailing dog’s bladder failed rapidly and caused her excruciating pain, the family decided it was time to face reality. However, there was one more thing that April wanted to accomplish for Libra in appreciation of her unending love.

Libra has always loved riding in cars. As a result, April decided to roll down the window and allow Libra to enjoy her favorite pastime on her last car journey to the vet. The sickly dog seemed at ease for the next 30 minutes as she enjoyed the breeze and appreciated the passing vistas with her eyes closed one last time.

Libra has gone over the rainbow bridge, and her spirit is free of any suffering. April’s depiction of Libra’s final car ride and journey was intended to pay homage to the sweet memory of her proudest childhood best friend. Rest In Peace, sweet Libra.
