When Mia was first rescued, her face lit up with a huge smile, as if she couldn’t believe that there were humans who could be so kind as to save her life. She was just a young puppy, and no one really knows what her past held, but it’s believed she was abandoned, likely because her back legs were paralyzed. The Beldi Dog Rescue shared her story on Instagram, hoping someone would come forward to adopt her. One person felt an immediate connection with Mia and said, “I talked to my husband, and it just felt right to bring her into our family,” Rosanna explained. So, they decided to make Mia a part of their home.
From the moment Mia arrived at Rosanna’s home, there was an undeniable change in the atmosphere. The pup began to grow more confident and energetic, embracing her new life. Mia learned to ‘run around’ despite her limp back legs. She was later fitted for a special wheelchair. Being that she’s still a playful puppy, she wanted to interact with everyone, including the family’s cat, Dino.
Dino, however, wasn’t quite accustomed to Mia’s high energy. Mia constantly tried to get his attention, even going so far as to playfully tug on his tail. Whenever Dino turned around, Mia would look away innocently as if she wasn’t the one who pulled his tail. Despite Dino’s attempts to keep his distance, Mia was determined to become his best friend.
Initially, Dino, being an adult cat, only wanted to play on his terms and often ignored Mia’s playful advances. However, over time, Dino started to teach Mia the manners he expected. It was endearing to watch how Dino was slowly warming up to her.
After about a month, there was a noticeable shift in their relationship. It was heartwarming to see that Dino had finally accepted Mia. Now, Dino is very protective of her, watching over her like an older sibling.
In a horrifying case that has come to light, two brothers filmed themselves as they committed unspeakable acts of cruelty against dogs and wildlife. The brothers have been jailed for their offenses. A lifetime ban on animal ownership for abusers is not just warranted – it's essential for the protection of all animals.
Having Mia in their lives brought so much joy and laughter to the family. “She’s added so much love and fun to our home,” they shared. The family is grateful to The Beldi Dog Rescue for their incredible work in such challenging circumstances.
