For a dog, they don’t have a voice to speak up when something isn’t right. Dogs will often suffer as a result, and for those of us that love dogs, we could never imagine just casting our dogs aside like they were insignificant. For bluegrass singer and songwriter Donna Hughes, she used her voice and her talents to sing about something that was near and dear to her heart–the treatment of animals. So many times she had seen animals left out in the harsh elements, whether that be the blistering cold or the unrelenting heat. The pain that she feels for these unfortunate animals is apparent in her lyrics:
