iHeartDogs works closely with GreaterGood.org to donate a portion of sales to their various charity efforts. Through the Rescue Bank program, thousands of shelter dogs and cats each year are able to have food, provided by Greater Good Charities. Thanks to the support of customers like you, happy endings like the one below are made possible.

After being abandoned in West Virginia, Denver had no choice but to wander the streets.

Just skin and bones, the large breed dog only weighed a mere 30 pounds. That’s when he was found, rescued, and transported to Paws Across Pittsburgh rescue — and it was just in time when they did.

After finally getting the food and nourishment that he needed, over time Denver doubled in weight. The light came back into his eyes and he finally got to see what wonderful things there were about being a dog: going on walks, playing with toys, and getting treats.

This wouldn’t have been made possible without the Greater Good Charities Rescue Bank program, which helps provide high-quality food to shelters in need.

“High-quality nourishment from our rescue food bank helped this boy get his desired weight,” the rescue said. “He doubled his weight and got vetted and is in perfect health now!”

Luckily, it didn’t take long before Denver was on the way to his forever home. In the beginning of July, he was adopted by a loving forever family that has other dogs for him to play with.

“Denver was adopted this past week and is living his best life,” the rescue said at the time of the adoption. “He has a fabulous family and a new fur sibling! [He has] his happy ever after!”

The rescue, vetting, and adoption wouldn’t have been possible without the rescue bank — and it’s clear that Denver is ever thankful, too.

“The food and supplies from the rescue food bank always allow us to provide top-of-the-line nourishment for these dogs that need it so desperately,” the rescue said. “The money saved on the cost of food can then go towards vetting and other needed items. We are so grateful to be partners! Thank you!”
