Everyone, meet Fifty the two-legged Pit Bull!
Fifty is one of the strongest, most resilient dog I’ve come across. He is a fighter and a survivor.
Ever since the day he was born, Fifty was a rescue dog. His mom was pregnant when she was rescued. And luckily, he and his sister found a loving family who adopted them.

But his trials were far from over. Sept. 21, 2007, a police officer in Berwyn shot him on both of his right limbs. According to his Facebook page, it was because of breed discrimination.
So Handsome. So Majestic. So Perfect.

And because of that shooting, Fifty had a double amputation and lost both of his right limbs. But his loving and ever-supportive family was there by his side.

Unfortunately, his family lost their home due to an economic downfall. Fifty and his sister needed to find a new family and a new home.

With Fifty’s condition, he would have been euthanized if he was placed in other shelters. But thankfully, he and his sister were taken to the Animal Welfare League. Diane, the shelter manager, knew that Fifty was special so she made it her mission to find Fifty and his sister a forever home.

His new family are animal lovers who foster dogs in need. And Fifty and Izzy made sure their foster brothers felt welcome.

Fifty is a beautiful and happy dog. And thanks to the kindhearted people who helped him and gave him a chance, he gets to live a happy and loved life.
