After being struck by a school bus, a resilient dog named Yeti found himself in a desperate situation. The bus driver, realizing what had happened, immediately contacted the police. When the officers arrived on the scene, they called a local rescue group, who discovered Yeti lying injured in a ditch. With little information on his background, the rescuers tried to locate his owner. A nearby house, which appeared abandoned, had other dogs—some Rottweilers and a Chihuahua—that seemed to be guarding him until help arrived. Despite attempts to find his owner, no one stepped forward.

Initially, euthanasia was considered due to the extent of his injuries. But instead, he was given a second chance at life, although he lost one of his legs. Not long after his recovery, Yeti was adopted into a loving home, where he fit in immediately as if he’d been there all along. One day, his new family brought him to the beach, and they were thrilled to find he absolutely adored it. Since then, they’ve taken him on beach trips often, even booking weekend getaways so he can enjoy long, sandy days by the shore.

With his tail constantly wagging, Yeti has a friendly and inviting demeanor that draws people to him. Remarkably, children with autism and individuals in wheelchairs seem especially attracted to his warm energy, creating many beautiful moments of connection. His new family finds it heartwarming to see him so eager for affection, always ready to climb into a lap.

The pup also loves snuggling with stuffed animals. They’re like his little buddies who never let him down. He takes one with him everywhere as if it’s his own personal support animal. It’s adorable! Yeti has a unique condition called vitiligo, which gradually lightens his fur as his body stops producing melanin. Over time, he’s grown whiter, and his family wonders if he might one day turn completely white. Despite this change, they care only about his happiness and health.

Merida is a senior who was found abandoned in a backyard with her sibling who had passed away. She was left to fend for herself as an 11-year-old with diabetes. Thankfully, Kanoa Rescue Foundation stepped in to save her, but she still needs your help!

To keep him strong, Yeti attends weekly physical therapy sessions and wears special braces to protect his wrist. With ongoing training and a prosthetic leg in the works, Yeti is well on his way to living life to the fullest. He may look a little different as he ages, but his heart is full, and his future is bright.
