#10 – Towels

This might seem not as lifesaving or direly important as some of the other items on this list, but if you’ve ever had a poop explosion during a trip, you truly understand how important towels are. Poop explosions are pretty much what they sound like – your dog having explosive diarrhea. It’s awful, but it’s not their fault. Dogs often have digestive upset during stress, and this stress can easily be brought on by traveling – especially if they’ve never done so before. Many dogs also get car sick, which means you might be cleaning up a lot of vomit. What could be more useful than towels? We recommend getting towels from your local dollar store, because if you’re out on a trip and a mess happens, you’re not likely to be around a washing machine and dryer. Most dogs don’t have problems traveling, but diarrhea happens to all dogs for whatever reason, and usually at the most inopportune times. Better safe than sorry with a lot of extra towels, we say!
