Puppies for Breakfast is the brain child of dog lover, Hector Garcia. Being one of those rare humans who loves dogs and people, Garcia was inspired to host his first “dog fest” in his own backyard in 2010. The get-together – complete with coffee, juice, and breakfast tacos – was such a hit that two years later he organized a bigger and better doggy brunch!
From there, Puppies for Breakfast became an annual event and one of the largest dog festivals in Texas – maybe the whole country! On the PFB website, Garcia explained his goals for the event:
“My vision for every dog festival is for it to be a huge Dog Party for dogs and their owners. I also want to create an atmosphere that’s festive and a marketplace that benefits each and every sponsor, vendor, and dog rescue involved. It’s simple, I love dogs and I love people and PFB brings both together for one day to celebrate dogs.” – Hector
The proceeds from the 2017 Puppies for Breakfast extravaganza will benefit the Animal Justice League Dog Rescue. The event is free, but Garcia hopes attendees will make a $5 donation – or gift of any amount – to help this amazing rescue.

- 40 different vendors and dog industry companies
- Human food trucks
- Dog treat trucks
- 2-3 DJs
- Two custom photo wall/booth areas
- A dog costume contest with cash prizes
- A massive dog-shaped piñata full of candy for the kids
- A “signature 4,000 sq ft dog play area that will once again become a Puppy Bowl full of balls, pools, and toys.”
Don’t have a dog of your own? What better way to get a puppy-fix and meet some fabulous pooch parents? The event is family-friendly and everyone is invited to attend!
Garcia’s newest dog, Torta aka Happy Feet will be making his PFB debut this year. His doting dad found him running loose in the road a few months ago and made him the fourth member of the Garcia pack. Torta is the Spanish word for a fajita-filled french bread sandwich – adorable!
