A Frenchie With One Eye But a Whole Lot of Heart

| September 3, 2015

Lily was rescued by the Humane Society of The United States Animal Rescue Team (HSUS) from a puppy mill in Rutherford County, North Carolina. She was one of more than 50 dogs including English bulldog, Yorkie, Cocker spaniel, French bulldog and Shih Zu breeds living in poor conditions and in need of medical care.

In the middle of all of it was this little French bulldog with a bad eye – it had actually rotted in the socket. It was removed, along with several teeth and tumor in her mouth.

Now, she is thriving in her forever home, with mom Lori Shore-Smith, who says “she’s the daughter I never had!” (note: Lily is wearing a GPS tracking collar. It is NOT an electric collar. It allows Lily’s mommy to track her with her iPhone so she never gets lost!

She is being treated like the princess she is!

Shore-smith wants Lily to be a reminder, a message, to others to be a voice and stand up against puppy mills. To stop the abuse and neglect of dogs in these situations. This wonderful video was shot by the HSUS as part of their Forever Home series, which was create to show the amazing transformation these animals have gone through since being rescued by the HSUS Animal Rescue Team.
