I think the most horrifying experience that parents can go through is to discover their child lying face down, completely unconscious in water. This was what happened when David Kenney discovered his 2 year old toddler Alexander after he saw their dog Leala, all wet and barking to get his attention. As soon as he saw her, he ran to the dam with his two friends but by the time they were able to get Alexander out of the water, the little boy barely had a pulse and his heart had stopped beating.

David and his friends performed CPR to Alexander and didn’t stop until his heart restarted, which took nearly thirty minutes before the paramedics arrived. The prognosis was not good and the doctors had to induce the toddler into a coma. They told his parents that they should expect the worse. They might not be able to bring him home anymore of if they do, he will have some brain damage.

However, the doctors were proven wrong because after 48 hours, Alexander woke up, making a miraculous recovery. The doctors believed that David administered CPR correctly while the Kenney family believes it was because of Leala!

If it weren’t for Leala’s swift action in running back to the house and doing all possible to get David Kenney’s attention; without the help of friends in administering CPR and; never giving up, Alexander wouldn’t be alive today. Share this incredible video so that others will know the importance of CPR in saving a life and most of all, the importance of never giving up!
