When you purchase products from the iHeartDogs store, part of that money goes to Greater Good Charities. Greater Good Charities saves many animals in need through its GOODS Program, which donates food and other essential supplies to animal organizations. Those donations have saved the lives of many dogs, including Marcus.

Marcus is a beautiful dog who had an unfortunate start to life. Someone found him roaming the streets, extremely skinny and matted. He dug through the trash for food, desperate to find a filling meal. If he had continued that lifestyle, his chances of survival would’ve been very low.

Marcus the Husky

Luckily, a kind person decided to offer help to the distressed canine. They lured Marcus to their home, and once they gained his trust, they brought him to the vet for a checkup. He didn’t have a microchip, but they posted him on social media just to be safe.

No one came forward to claim the pup, so it’s likely he was living as a stray for a while. The vet believes he’s about two or three years old. Marcus’ rescuer couldn’t keep him, so they looked for a rescue that could care for him.

Donations Saved His Life

Route 66 Pet Rescue in Tulsa, Oklahoma, took Marcus into their care. They’re one of the many organizations that receive life-changing donations from Greater Good Charities, so they were able to offer him the food they were given. Thanks to the generous food donations, Marcus had a full belly in no time.

Food donated to rescue

The rescue also helped Marcus feel his best by brushing out his matted fur. He has a soft, luxurious coat now that all his tangles are gone. He’s looking and feeling better than ever!

“The GOODS Program helps dogs like Marcus receive quality food to help better them physically,” Route 66 Pet Rescue wrote.

When rescues like Route 66 receive supplies from the GOODS Program, it allows them to worry less about buying food for the dogs and instead focus their funds on other aspects of care like medical attention. Whenever you buy products from the iHeartDogs store, you’re helping rescues save more dogs in need. So, thank you to all the heroes who have purchased products to help rescue animals!
