Abandoned Puppy Born Without Front Legs Gets Her Very First Wheelchair

Everyone, meet Daffodil–a Chihuahua who was born without front legs.

A man named Jene rescued Daffodil. She was placed in a cardboard box and left on the side of the market street. Jene saw several people walking past the poor pup. Someone even picked her up, but put her back in the soggy cardboard box upon noticing her birth defect. Jene couldn’t believe what he was seeing.

Fortunately, Jene wasn’t like those uncaring people. He carefully picked up the little pup and wrapped her in his shirt. He then brought the puppy home and gave her some food.

When he took a closer look at Daffodil’s condition, he realized she needed more help than he could offer. So Jene brought Daffodil to the San Francisco SPCA.

She had already learned to get around well enough, but couldn’t channel her puppy energy into playful romping, or chasing toys, or running in circles like the other dogs. In order to give her the life she deserves, one full of puppy playdates and trips to the beach, we decided to get Daffodil her very own set of wheels. Because puppies deserve that. *Every* dog deserves that.

Daffodil may have no front legs, but just like any pup, she was as adorable, very curious and very playful. San Francisco SPCA wanted to help her move around easier, so they decided to give her a wheelchair. Watch the video below!

I’m crying tears of joy! Daffodil was saved and now she has a loving home! Thanks to the kind man who saved her, to San Francisco SPCA, and to her new guardian, Daffodil gets to live a happy and loved life!
