For 27 years, Australia’s hottest firefighters have shucked their shirts in the name of charity. The Australian Firefighters Calendar was established in 1993 to support research into childhood burns.

Since then, they have raised over $3 million for various charitable organizations. For the upcoming 2020 cycle, the guys posed for not one, but six sexy calendars!

Our favorite? The 2020 Dog Calendar, of course.

The guys featured in the calendars come from Australia’s Urban, Rural, Armed Forces, Aviation and fighting services. The calendars also feature firefighters from France and Germany, with plans for a full International casting call in 2021.

As for the dogs, they all come from the Australian rescue groups Safe Haven Animal Rescue, ABC Rescue and Precious Paws.

After nearly three decades supporting Australian children’s hospital organizations, the calendar creators decided to focus on smaller charities benefiting native Australian, rescue, and therapy animals.

“We felt that it was important to help some of the smaller charities that the public never hears about,” says David Rogers, Director of the Australian Firefighters Calendar. “These grass roots organizations work tirelessly in their local community making a huge difference in people’s [and animals’] lives.”

The proceeds from the 2020 dog, cat, horse, wildlife, and farm animal calendars will go to groups such as Pets of the Homeless. POTH provides food and temporary housing for pets that can no longer be looked after by their owners due to homelessness, domestic violence, or other unforeseeable events.

Other worthy recipients include Healing Hooves which offers equine therapy to children with Autism, veterans with PTSD, and seniors suffering from dementia; and BackTrack Youth Works, which helps troubled youth learn respect and responsibility through working with Australian Cattle Dogs.

Donated funds from the calendar will also help The Currumbin Wildlife Hospital purchase new equipment and fund research into diseases affecting the koala population. The facility treats more than 11,000 Australian animals each year.

And now, for your additional viewing pleasure, here’s a behind-the-scenes peak at the making of the 2020 dog calendar!

The Australian Firefighter Calendars make excellent Christmas presents for every animal lover in your life. In addition to the adorable dog calendar, you can check out a whole new batch of guys cuddling with kittens, horses, wildlife, and farm critters.

For those who’d rather focus on the topless heroes, there is also a classic calendar free of distractingly cute creatures. Non-animal related charity beneficiaries include Down Syndrome South Australia and local farmers affected by recent droughts.
