Needy (yup, that really is his name!) was surrendered to Animal Care & Control Team of Philadelphia (ACCT Philly), a high intake shelter, with his favorite teddy bear. Now, Chester County Dog Tails, a group of volunteers that help dogs at high-risk shelters find homes in their area, is sharing his story on Facebook in the hopes of finding him a home.

This story broke my heart and I am calling on all of our wonderful readers to spread the news and get Needy a new home for the New Year!

According to Natalie Marshall, a volunteer, he was in a chaotic household and did not do well there.

“He is a shy boy but once he warms up he is a sweet sweet boy,” she says. “He needs someone with a little patience to helps him open up, but once he opens up he is a sweetheart. He is a cute boy who loves to put his head on your shoulder, and when he plays it looks like he is dancing.”

His former owners also told the shelter that he is “very affectionate” and knows many cues including: sit, high five, down, come inside and even go outside!

Although Chester County Dog Tails is posting about him, Needy is still at ACCT Philly and needs to get out asap!

A kind volunteer has pledged to donate a brand new teddy bear and a bag of treats to whoever adopts him; he has stolen the hearts of the workers at the shelter and Chester County Dog Tails.

If you are interested in adopting him, email lifesaving@acctphilly.org or adopt@acctphilly.org. You can also go in person to 111 W Hunting Park Avenue in Philadelphia to ACCT PHILLY.

Unable to adopt him? SHARE this story to help him find his FURever family!
