If you haven’t been introduced to Andrew Cotter, it’s time you come out from under your quarantine rock. He’s the isolation salvation we all never knew we needed. Cotter is the proud (and hilarious) dog dad to Mabel and Olive, two Labradors whose everyday lives have become entertainment for millions around the world.

Cotter is a sports announcer in Scotland. His voice is perfectly pitched to deliver the perfect balance of thrilling, yet relaxing, commentary no matter what he’s narrating. In his normal life, Cotter typically announces golf and rugby. But, because of social distancing, he’s resorted to narrating some new age sporting events.

The Most Exciting Few Minutes In Make Believe Sports

First, there was the walk in the woods where Mabel and Olive were at a stand-off. One of the pups waded in the pond while the other stood on the path, contemplating her next move. Eventually, both dogs were in the water, enjoying a murky soak while their dad narrated.

Then there was the great squeaky toy snatch of 2020. Olive held on tightly to her toy while Mabel waited for the perfect window of opportunity to steal it away. Cotter perfectly narrated the entire stand-off in a way that had all of us on the edge of our seats.

They’re Back And Ready To Take On Corporate

Now the terrific trio is back. All of their videos are entirely relatable, especially for us dog lovers, but this new video really takes the cake. Mabel, Olive, and Cotter fumble their way through an awkward Zoom meeting, and it’s every bit as hilarious as you’d think. From bad connections to annoying background noise, inattention, and embarrassing things caught on camera, Cotter and his girls absolutely nailed it.

It got off to a rocky start.

“Mabel, you are connected but you need to start your video. Start at the bottom of the screen, it’s a camera, it looks like a biscuit. If you just nudge it with your nose…”

Sounds like a typical Zoom meeting, right? It gets better.

“So basically an update as to where we are. I can see you both look, uh, worried. But the good news from head office is that neither of you is to be furloughed,” Cotter told the curious canines.

The meeting continued to address inappropriate behaviors and areas with room for improvement.

“Okay, the annual report. You’ve pretty much ruined the sofas and 913 squirrels chased, none caught. So not a good return.”

Mabel was unphased by the less than stellar review. If you watch Cotter’s videos, you’ll come to realize that Mabel may be a bit of a trouble maker. An adorable one, nonetheless.

It seems like Mabel and Olive are “employed” by a pretty fair company though. The meeting had some high points, like Olive’s bonus for good behavior and the accompanying letter of praise from management.

“You’re a good dog. Yes, you are. Who’s a good dog? You’re a good dog!”

I’m not sure that there’s any higher praise to be given, and Olive was thrilled with the accolades!

Social distancing will eventually end, but I think I speak for all of us when I say that we hope their videos go on forever!
