Sebastian and his family were on a routine drive when an unexpected sight brought them to a sudden stop—a tiny dog standing helplessly in the middle of the street. She looked lost and vulnerable, her small body trembling from fear. Without hesitation, they pulled over, worried for her safety.
As soon as the car door opened, the little dog hesitated, her wide, pleading eyes staring at the family with uncertainty. She had likely been wandering for days, her tiny frame looking frail and exhausted. But something inside her told her to trust these people. Slowly, she inched toward them, and Sebastian, an animal lover at heart, crouched down, gently reaching out his hand.
With one final glance at the road behind her—perhaps still hoping for a familiar face—she finally stepped forward and let Sebastian scoop her into his arms.

As soon as Sebastian held her, he knew she was special. She nestled into him, letting out a small sigh as if she had been waiting for someone to save her all along. His heart melted instantly. “Can we keep her?” he asked, looking up at his mother with hopeful eyes.
His mother hesitated, knowing the responsibility that came with owning a dog. “I don’t think we can keep her,” she said gently, but Sebastian wasn’t ready to accept that answer.
“But Mom, she has nowhere else to go!” he pleaded, hugging the tiny dog protectively. “She needs us.”
His mother sighed, unsure of what to do. But deep down, she saw the love in her son’s eyes and knew that saying no wouldn’t be easy. She agreed to bring the dog home for the night while they figured things out.

Once inside their house, the little dog, whom they later named Nala, quickly settled in. She was still nervous but seemed relieved to be off the streets. They built her a cozy outdoor area, but she didn’t want to be alone—she kept looking for Sebastian.
Recognizing her need for comfort, he sat outside with her for hours. He watched as she cautiously explored her new surroundings, sniffing the ground and wagging her tiny tail every so often. “She’s so cute,” he whispered. “And we saved her life.”
His mother smiled, watching the bond between them grow stronger by the minute. But she still wasn’t convinced they could keep her.
That night, Nala curled up beside Sebastian, resting her tiny head against his arm. She had chosen him as her human.

The next morning, Sebastian was more determined than ever. He knew he needed to convince his mother that Nala belonged with them.
He approached her with a serious expression and said, “Mom, I think all three of us can take care of Nala. We feed her, let her out, and make sure she’s okay. She loves us, and we love her.”
His mother saw the sincerity in his words. She had never seen her son so determined about anything before. He wasn’t just asking to keep a dog—he was promising to take care of her.
After a deep breath, she nodded. “Okay, you guys have a new puppy.”
Sebastian’s eyes lit up with joy. “Really?!” he shouted, running to scoop Nala into his arms. She licked his face, as if she somehow understood that this was her forever home now.

Over the next few weeks, Nala blossomed into the happiest dog. She followed Sebastian everywhere, wagging her tail and playing like she had never known fear or hunger. She had gone from being a scared, abandoned pup on the street to a beloved member of the family.
Every night, she curled up next to Sebastian, knowing she was safe and loved. She would never have to worry about being alone again.
For Sebastian, Nala was more than just a pet—she was his best friend. And for Nala, Sebastian was the hero who had given her a second chance at life.
