Soldier Repays The Military Dog Who Saved His Life In The Best Way EVER

While serving in Afghanistan, U.S. military dog Layka was shot 4 times at point-blank range. Despite being shot, she still subdued the shooter, saving her handler’s life and the other members of the team. After 7 hours of surgery and the amputation of her leg, she made it through a survivor! Her handler, Staff Sgt. Julian McDonald, fought hard to adopt her and she’s now become a part of his own family. This is their story…

Wasn’t that amazing?! We are sure that Layka is getting all the attention and love she deserves in her forever home. Share this incredible story with your friends who love dogs–just like you!
