If there’s anything good to come out of the coronavirus pandemic, it’s that we are all learning to appreciate the little things. We’re finding out that we are all human. As we all remain mostly cooped up inside our homes, many people hang on for the next news report to see if there is any sign of that elusive flattening curve. It has taken the entire world to become united in order to beat this virus and many of us would struggle to keep our sanity if not for our four-legged family members.
As you may have found out in your own work-from-home life, many unexpected, tiny visitors can disrupt you during your workday. Even news anchors are working from home and it turns out they aren’t immune from surprise guests. One Fox 4 weatherman had a special guest appearance during his broadcast recently and viewers can’t get enough! Now, this guest didn’t appear to be unexpected so much as she appeared unimpressed with her dad’s notoriety.
She’s Ready For Her Close Up!
Meteorologist Evan Andrews is the proud dog dad to Penny. Apparently, Penny likes to enjoy midday naps on her very own, very boujee, tufted couch. The precious dog bone-shaped pillow is the cherry on top! Penny’s adorable appearance was the dose of cuteness we all needed. It was paws down, the BEST. WEATHER. REPORT. EVER.
As the broadcast continued, Penny adjusted her sleeping positions, as any princess does. At one point, she even stretched out the entire length of the couch and rested her precious little head on her bone pillow. Naturally, Penny is a trendsetter. If you’re wondering where the darling diva got her fancy couch from, some viewers have narrowed down on a similar one at Petco. Penny’s forecasting father made a statement:
“…I don’t think I would ever spend that much money on a couch. But my wife just had a birthday, and her aunt bought it for her birthday. We got the couch about the same day we all started working from home. As soon as I got the couch, the dogs fell in love with it. I’m like, ‘I’m putting it in the back of the shot,’ because everybody’s got their Emmy’s in the background. So I’m putting the couch.”

The meteorologist’s pack doesn’t stop with Penny. He went on to show the world his turtle, Frederick (not to be confused with former child star Franklin the turtle). Andrews’ proudly hoisted Frederick in front of him for his viewers to see. It was kind of like a proud father showing off his new baby. Turtley adorbs. (That’s the isolation talking.)
In addition to Penny and Frederick, the Andrews family also has a cat and another dog. They’re all allowed to make as much of an on-air debut as they want!
“Considering everything going on in the world nowadays, this is about the best news that’s on the news every day. I just let [my pets] roam freely in the background,” Andrews admitted.
We all might be hoping for social distancing to end soon, but can we all agree that we wouldn’t mind if Evan Andrews kept broadcasting from home?
